Pancake Day

Unless you’ve gone to work prepared then we fully expect you to be left feeling hungry and craving some pancakes for the duration of today! You will no doubt see numerous pictures flying around the social media world.

Where does it all come from?

Pancake Day/Shrove Tuesday, is known as a day for eating lots of pancakes. However, more traditionally it is known as the last day before those of a Christian belief have lent-a period of abstinence. Many people will have heard of lent and even if not religious many will choose to give up something. Traditionally, Shrove Tuesday is the last day of indulging and many would have to give up, flour, eggs, sugar and fat (this is many people always give up something considered bad for them). So there you go…!
