Today marks the official start to summer. Hello more sunshine (hopefully!)

Let’s hope that for the next few months we get to see lots of sunshine, have more BBQ’s, drink more Pimm’s and eat lots of strawberries because we all know when we start seeing all of those things summer has really begun!

Another sign of summer-weddings!

With 16% choosing to tie the knot in June the beginning of the summer is certainly a popular month to get wed, with July and August following closely behind. Many couples choose to get married in the summer months because it allows them a bit more choice and flexibility.

Here are some things to think about if you’re planning a summer wedding.

As we said before, the summer is a popular time for couples to choose to marry so if you are in your late 20’s-early 30’s you’re probably not the only one of your friends getting married. Be sure to get your save the dates out early to allow people sufficient time to plan their attendance. With that in mind, the summer is when the majority of people take their holidays so again, be sure to make sure your guests know in plenty of time that they are invited before they go booking any holidays.

When it comes to décor with a summer wedding flowers are going to play a huge part. Summer offers the perfect time to inject beautiful colours into your wedding day. There are numerous and beautiful flowers in bloom so you’ll not be spoilt for choice. We’ve found that Peonies, Daisies, Lavender, Sweet peas and of course the classic Rose are all popular choices. Choosing flowers that are in season is certainly going to benefit your wedding budget too.
