I think it’s safe to say that we are well and truly into the Wedding Show Season again. Wedding shows are a fantastic opportunity to meet lots of different wedding suppliers all under one roof, but beware, it can be overwhelming!
But don’t worry, because there’s so much to consider when planning your wedding, we’ve put together some wedding show tips that will help you make the most out of any show, and your weekend!
HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF A WEDDING SHOW
Who to bring?
If your fiancée can’t go, who else will you bring? Bridesmaid, Best Man, Mum, Dad, Mother in law to be? If you’re thinking of looking at dresses, then maybe taking your Mum is a nice idea.
Who’s going to be there?
Make a plan of which suppliers you want to talk to. There is no harm in making a list and making sure you talk to everyone on it.
Which one were they again?
When you’re at the show and chatting with suppliers you’d like to think you’ll remember everything they told you but with all the best intention in the world, you’ll have forgotten who they were by the time you get home. Take a notebook and carrier bag. Jot down ideas you like and take flyers and business cards away.
Some suppliers have special offers on the day so take some form of payment with you if you are planning to book, but at the same time do not feel pressurised in to saying ‘yes’ if you are not 100% sure or if you want to take the time to think it over. It is so easy to get caught up in the excitement of the day and make an impulse purchase that you might regret later.
If there are catwalks or live shows, find out what times they are on and co-ordinate your visit so you can take some time to sit down and enjoy them. Even if you’re not looking to find your dream dress on the day your feet will be glad of the rest!
With that in mind, wear comfy shoes. You will be on your feet for a long period of time and probably do a lot of walking.
We love meeting couples at weddings shows and this year we are planning to attend lots so if you are planning your wedding and thinking about a Humanist Marriage Ceremony then do check out our growing list of shows.
We look forward to meeting you soon! Happy wedding planning!
