Scotland's Most Marvellous Mobile Bars

If you overindulged in the botanical bliss of one too many Bombay Sapphires over the weekend, don’t feel bad, just blame your ancestors!  That’s right, when our fruit-munching primitive ancestors came down from the trees and began foraging for fallen fruit ten million years ago, humanity’s love-affair with alcohol began. Incredibly, by eating the fallen, and therefore rotting and fermented fruit, our ape-ish ancestors caused a genetic mutation to occur, which resulted in future generations having the ability to breakdown alcohol and since then, we haven’t looked back!

From a piping hot-toddy to alleviate the symptoms of a cold to a colourful cocktail to sip at the beach, there’s a tipple available for almost every occasion, and weddings are no exception!  Following in the footsteps of brides and grooms across the pond, many British couples are replacing the traditional champagne toast with a personalised ‘signature wedding drink’, which can be absolutely anything from a couples favourite spirit to a colour co-ordinated cocktail to match their wedding theme!

What if, however, you’re getting married in your aunt Cecelia’s garden or down at the village hall or perhaps you’ve got your heart set on saying “I do” on your favourite beach or in a fairy-lit barn?  No bar.  No fear.  Mobile bars are a thing and they come in VERY handy!

A mobile bar does exactly what it says on the tin; it brings the party wherever you are.  So ditch the thought of self-served, fizz-free G&Ts and room temperature prosecco because we’ve listed five of the most marvellous mobile bars in Scotland that will not only serve up some serious drink drama and make your guests love you even more than they already do, but they will also add some serious GORGEOUS points to your venue too:

Poco Prosecco, Edinburgh

If you’re going for a garden party or vintage themed wedding, then you’re going to be obsessed with Poco Prosecco!  This completely gorgeous Piaggio Apé van has been converted into a prosecco bar, serving up ice-cold fizz on tap and classic fizz cocktails.  The van harks back to the romance of times gone by and the owner is happy to work alongside couples to help make their wedding extra special.   Although based in Edinburgh, Poco Prosecco is happy to travel throughout Scotland.

The Cantering Clydesdale Bar Co, Glasgow

The Cantering Clydesdale Bar Company is a mobile bar with a difference!  As the name suggests, there’s a serious equine element going on here as this beautiful mobile bar comes in the form of a professionally converted horsebox.  With tonnes of charm, this aNEIGHzing mobile bar would be perfect for barn/farm weddings and guests are sure to love it!  The Cantering Clydesdale Bar Company offers a number of packages to suit couple’s tastes and budgets and although based in Glasgow, they are happy to travel throughout Scotland.

Tipple in a Tuk Tuk, Perthshire

Juniper, the mobile gin and prosecco van is a ridiculously romantic converted tuk tuk and the perfect partner to a vintage style wedding.  Smaller than your average mobile bar, Juniper can squeeze its way into more venues than you might imagine and makes for a beautiful wedding photography backdrop.  With a huge selection of Scottish gins and chilled prosecco on tap, what’s not to love?  Based in Wolfhill, Perthshire, Juniper will travel throughout Scotland.

Bar on a Bike, Edinburgh

For the eco-warrior couples out there looking to embrace a “green” wedding, what better way for your mobile bar to arrive than via pedal power!  Created using vintage tricycles with hand built bar fronts, Bar on a Bike is a unique and quirky way to serve up your favourite drinks in even the smallest of venues with zero carbon footprint.

Beetle Juice, Edinburgh

If you’re looking to bring the party to your wedding venue, then look no further than Beetle Juice.  Barman, Sameer, will serve up custom designed cocktails for your guests out of his supercool vintage VW campervan!  Beetle Juice is based in Edinburgh but will travel all over Scotland to delight wedding guests with some serious mixology skills.
