Amanda and Antony look the picture of pure love, captured perfectly by Cara Frew Photography
By Neil McKenzie, Fuze Celebrant
Amanda and Antony have been pillars of support for each other from the very start. Their wedding ceremony was no different. They expressed their love for each other with personally written vows, resulting in there being no dry eyes in the house! They are such a supportive couple and make a great team, alongside beloved dog, Elvis!
Their ceremony took place at Brig O Doon House Hotel in Ayr and was the perfect setting for them to tie the knot. The November Christmas feel made it extra special with the beautiful decor around the stunning venue.
Cara Frew Photography caught all the action on the day from the morning prep to night time sparklers. Cara said, “Amanda and Antony are such lovely, friendly people! They were so easy to get along with and couldn’t have made me feel more comfortable. Their love for one another and excitement for the day was so heartwarming to see. I can’t thank them enough for having me photograph their special day.”
It was fun, love and laughter throughout Amanda and Antony’s bespoke humanist wedding ceremony
Dressed To The Nines
Like so many sayings and expressions, we can only make educated guesses at their origins. Using “dressed to the nines” in short means more or less “to perfection.” Now, Amanda and Antony pulled that off with their own stunning outfits, and so did their handsome and gorgeous bridal and groomsmen parties. The shades of green combination worked perfectly against the autumn backdrop gardens at their beautiful Ayrshire venue.
The girls self sufficiently looked after each other and Amanda’s every need during the morning of prep, whilst the boys had a little extra help on the day from the amazing team at Kilts 4U who provided their ‘On The Day Fitting Service’.
Turned Out In Style
Antony said, “The Kilts4U ‘on the day fitting service’, took away the stress of working out what part of our kilt attire was worn where, and simply made our morning so much more enjoyable as a result. Can’t thank Lee and the team at Kilts4U enough.”
The Kilts 4U On The Day Fitting Service can be provided both at home or at your venue and ultimately helps you make the most of your big day by doing what matters.
It avoids the stress of dressing your grooms party on your wedding day! Kilts4U are a multi award winning team and love nothing more than ensuring their top quality products are worn perfectly.
Visit their website or email fittingservice@kilts4u.co.uk for more info. Antony and his Grooms gang wore the Spirit of Loch Ness tartan on the big day.
Lee from Kilts4U always puts in the attention to detail needed to make the boys look their absolute best
Here’s Amanda and Antony’s love story journey taken direct from their wedding day ceremony script.
First encounter
Amanda and Antony actually met 3 years before they officially became an item. This was at a mutual friend’s party and they struck up conversation and then occasionally bumped into each other at more parties during the course of a few years.
Eventually, Antony messaged Amanda on Facebook – they got chatting and finally a first date was planned. Although, it was a rather informal first date, Antony took Amanda for a drive in his car and they headed for an Ice Blast. Amanda played her cards close to her chest and she had even told her parents that she was going out for a drive with Paul – her best friend and man of honour today!
However, they hit it off immediately – the conversation flowed so easily and they were very natural in each other’s company and both quickly deleting their Tinder accounts!
Just At The Right Time
Sadly, only two days after their first date together, Amanda’s beloved gran Mattie passed away. Amanda always says that although her Gran didn’t meet Antony, she felt it was a sign that Antony had come in to her life at that moment so that Mattie knew Amanda would be well looked after and happy! This was a very tough for Amanda and Antony was such an incredible pillar of support during this time, especially as their relationship had just begun.
Birthday Twins!
A month passed and they celebrated their birthdays together – incredibly they actually have the same birthday! Something that they both couldn’t quite believe when they first met. The birthday night out was a big test for Antony as he got to meet Amanda’s nearest and dearest! To make sure he made a good impression he decided remain sober and take the car…of course he got the thumbs up from Amanda’s family!
So in just a short space of time, Amanda and Antony had been through a lot together but they had shown incredible commitment, support and love to each other and only made their relationship stronger.
More Dates and Holidays
They shared so many fun dates, mini golf, cinema dates, drive in movies and nights out together and then went on their first holiday together. Soon after this trip to Tenerife, they had already started planning on how they could move in together. Yes, this couple don’t mess about – just a few months later they had bought their first home together! All this within the first 7 months, but they both knew things just felt so right and as the saying goes, when you know you know.
So, what makes them so right for each other! Well, they both understand each other and how best to support each other. And to put it simply, they really just love spending time together. Whether it is at the cinema, simply chilling at home or going on holiday! Talking of holidays – they do love to get away…Tenerife, Krakow, Rome and Mexico to name just a few.
And of course we can’t go on without mentioning the other love of their lives….their dog, Elvis! Elvis is their little baby who is spoilt rotten and they all love nothing more than long walks along Irvine Beach or a lazy day in bed together!

Football, Careers and Holidays!
Amanda and Antony have such similar personalities and are alike in most ways, however their main difference can normally be noticed on an Old Firm Day…Moving quickly on…
Antony is a good socializer and could talk to anyone and this in turn has helped Amanda build her confidence in new social situations. And last but not least, Antony has become a budding chef in the kitchen but can be rather messy, while Amanda would much rather clean the house than cook a meal – sounds like a good partnership to me!
In their professional lives, the couple have also supported each other to further their careers. Just 6 months after moving in together Antony had a career change and had 3 months away at Tulliallan, which was a very tough time for them both being apart at such an exciting part of their lives. But Amanda said it was all worth it in the end for the proud moment of seeing Antony in his passing out parade and the beginning of his new career.
Amanda then completed her Masters Post Grad course in Nursing which she completed from home while still working in her role as nurse during the pandemic. This was a very intense time but as always Antony was a great source of support! And as always Antony was beaming with pride when Amanda passed, like he always knew she would.
A Birthday Cake Proposal!
So of course, the way this couple naturally developed their relationship, it was perhaps not surprising when Antony proposed to Amanda – although his proposal plan almost had to be postponed!
After 2 years of being together, Antony hatched a plan to have a joint birthday party at his mum and dad’s house with their close family. The week leading up to the party, Amanda was admitted to hospital with pneumonia, only getting out the day before their birthday! It was touch and go whether Amanda would make it out the house but Antony gave her some gentle persuasion! Including managing to persuade her and her mum to paint her nails, fix her fake tan and dress up without her questioning why.
As the birthday cake came out and they blew out the candles, Antony got down on one knee and proposed! Amanda was in total shock, with lots of happy tears before she excitedly said YES. And here we are today!
Looking to the future, Amanda and Antony cannot wait to make more memories as husband and wife. They are excited to visit New York for their honeymoon in a few days time to begin their married life together.
