Terms and Conditions
Fuze Foundation Legal Marriage Bookings:
This contract is issued by the Fuze Foundation and is an agreement between the Fuze Foundation and the Couple.
Responsibilities Of the Marriage Officer
1. The Marriage Officer will provide a professional service at all times, ensuring that the ceremony is dignified, meaningful and personal within a broad Humanist framework. The Marriage Officer is authorised by the Registrar General to solemnise Humanist Marriages on behalf of the Fuze Foundation.
2. The Marriage Officer will ensure that they follow the Fuze code of conduct and procedures issued to them by Fuze Ceremonies during their training.
3. The Marriage Officer will ensure that the marriage is solemnised in accordance with the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977 and in a location that is safe and dignified.
4. The Marriage Officer will ensure the marriage takes place on the date and place specified on the Marriage Schedule.
5. The Marriage Officer will obtain the Marriage Schedule from the couple before the ceremony can commence.
6. The Marriage Officer will ensure the Marriage Schedule is correctly signed in permanent black liquid ink.
7. The Marriage Officer will ensure any amendments to the Marriage Schedule are made and initialled in permanent liquid black ink.
Note: The date and place of marriage cannot be altered without the express permission of the Registrar.
8. If, in the exceptional event of the agreed Marriage Officer being unable to conduct the ceremony (e.g. due to illness), Fuze will arrange for another suitable Marriage Officer to conduct the ceremony.
Responsibilities Of The Couple
1. To contact the Registrar, in the district where the marriage is to take place, at least 10-12 weeks before the date of the wedding and no later than 29 days prior, to submit the Marriage Notice forms (M10). If either of you is not a British citizen, you are responsible for ensuring that the correct documentation is provided in order to be married in Scotland.
2. To inform the Registrar that the marriage will be solemnised by a Marriage Officer of Fuze Foundation, by completing Section F of the M10 forms. Note: In addition to the Fuze fee, statutory fees are payable to the Registrar for the submission of Marriage Notices and for copies of the Marriage Certificate.
3. To collect the Marriage Schedule from the Registrar during the week prior to the marriage. One of the parties to the marriage must personally collect it.
4. To deliver the Marriage Schedule to the Marriage Officer on the day of the ceremony. Note: the marriage cannot be legally conducted without the Marriage Schedule.
5. To advise the Registrar and the Marriage Officer, in advance, if there is any possibility of the marriage not taking place on the date or in the place specified.
6. To take care of the signed Marriage Schedule and to return it to the Registrar within 3 days of the wedding taking place, so that the marriage can be registered. Please note that it can be returned to the Registrar by anyone.
7. To pay the agreed non-refundable booking deposit of 25% and the remaining balance due in respect of fees and expenses, in full, twelve weeks prior to the ceremony. Balance payment can only be made via bank transfer, cheque or cash, and details will be sent with invoice
Fuze Ceremonies Other types of Ceremony Bookings
This contract is issued by the Fuze Foundation and Fuze Ceremonies, and is an agreement between the Fuze Foundation and Fuze Ceremonies the Customer.
By accepting these terms & conditions you agree to pay your booking deposit to the Fuze Foundation and acknowledge that your final balance will be paid to Fuze Ceremonies.
Responsibilities Of the Fuze Celebrant
1. The Celebrant will provide a professional service at all times, ensuring that the ceremony is dignified, meaningful and personal.
2. The Celebrant will ensure that they follow the Fuze code of conduct and procedures issued to them by Fuze Ceremonies during their training.
3. The Celebrant will ensure the ceremony takes place on the date and place specified on the booking form.
4. If, in the exceptional event of the agreed Celebrant being un-able to conduct the ceremony (e.g. due to illness), Fuze will arrange for another suitable Celebrant to conduct the ceremony.
Responsibilities of The Customer
1. To advise the Celebrant, in advance, if there is any possibility of the ceremony not taking place on the date or in the place specified.
2. To pay the agreed non-refundable booking deposit of 25% and the balance due in respect of fees and expenses, in full, twelve weeks before the ceremony. Balance payment can only be made via bank transfer, cheque or cash, and details will be sent with invoice
The Fuze Foundation
By booking your ceremony with us you agree to support the objectives set out by The Fuze Foundation.
We will keep your name on our supporters’ register (no personal details are stored) and you can ask for your name to be removed at any time by contacting email@example.com
Right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us (Fuze Ceremonies, Suite 2.10, 1 Macdowall Street, Paisley. PA3 2NB or firstname.lastname@example.org) of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or e-mail).
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
You may cancel at any time, after 14 days, by giving written notice, cancellations less than 12 weeks prior to the ceremony results in a 50% payment of the remaining balance becoming due. All deposits paid are non-refundable.
If you need to postpone your ceremony, Fuze will honour the new date and, where possible, with your chosen Celebrant (however this is not guaranteed)
