COVID-19 UPDATE 12:00pm 22/3/20

At present, there are no changes to the process for the registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages.  This is a fast moving situation, we plan to keep these pages updated as more information becomes available.  There may be local changes, so best to contact your local authority.

England and Wales:  Find your Local Registrar Office

Scotland:  You can find details here: Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages

Northern Ireland latest statement:  ‘Due to the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus (Covid 19), the General Register Office would like to advise customers that the public search room at Colby House is closed from Wednesday 18 March and the public counter will be closed from Thursday 19 March until further notice’.  You can apply for life event certificates by telephone on: 0300 200 7890 or online: Registration Services

Funerals:  At present UK guidance is that funerals should continue, as normally as possible (for now), but taking into account all of the guidelines issued by government for minimising the risk of transmission. In consultation with local crematoria and cemeteries, Funeral homes and families should assess each funeral individually and consider whether it might mean smaller numbers of people and organising a celebration of life or memorial service planned for a later date.

Contact Fuze Ceremonies Celebrants we can help families by offering a video family meeting and webcasting ceremonies to enable other mourners to participate.  Get in touch 0800 014 8237

About the The Fuze Foundation.  We are a not-for-profit organisation established 2012 with 3 key purposes:

  1. To promote equality and diversity in society by providing solemn and dignified Humanist Marriage and Funeral Ceremonies to those who share ethical Humanists beliefs.
  2. To promote religious and racial harmony by providing Funeral Ceremonies for everyone, regardless of race, belief or religion. Our Funeral Ceremonies may contain religious rituals and beliefs as the Foundation aims to meet the needs and interests of the community at large.  We want to meet the need of the public at times of grief and promote religious harmony by being respectful, work in harmony with people of different beliefs.
  3. To assist with the real issues around funeral affordability.  We are actively campaigning and working on behalf of families to address the issues they face.  We want to do something practical and offer struggling families Funeral Ceremonies (Celebrants only) at no cost to them.  Our ultimate aim is to raise enough money to offer to pay all the funeral expenses.  We are also working with other social enterprises to be able to advise on low cost alternative funerals and memorial ceremonies.

All Fuze Celebrants are registered with The Fuze Foundation, we do not profit from Humanist Marriage Ceremonies and while we have the funds are offering Funeral Ceremonies at no cost to those suffering financial hardship.  Being married by Fuze means you are supporting The Fuze Foundation.

Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for CHAS (The Children’s hospice), Break through breast cancer and Lochaber Hope just to name a few. By choosing to have your ceremony with us, you will help us with our continued support of charities like these and to provide Ceremonies for those in need.
