What is the Fuze Foundation?

The Fuze Foundation is an organisation that supports people who are struggling to arrange a funeral. We provide practical help and where appropriate, a celebrant to conduct the funeral ceremony.

Guidance from the Fuze Foundation

The death of someone close can bring a flood of emotions. Grief, love, and responsibility often combine with pressure to “get everything right.” At the Fuze Foundation, we believe a meaningful farewell does not need to come at the cost of financial hardship.

Who can get help from the Fuze Foundation?

We support people who:

  • Are responsible for arranging a funeral

  • Are experiencing financial hardship or emotional distress

  • Need guidance, advocacy, or help navigating funeral arrangements

Each situation is considered individually.

What kind of help do you provide?

We offer:

  • Practical guidance on arranging a funeral

  • A trained celebrant to conduct the funeral ceremony (subject to availability)

  • Help understanding funeral options and avoiding unnecessary costs

  • Signposting to other organisations that may be able to provide financial, practical or emotional support

We do not provide direct financial support towards funeral costs.

Do you pay for funerals or funeral expenses?

No. The Fuze Foundation does not pay for funerals or contribute financially to funeral costs.

Our role is to support, guide, and advocate for families, helping them make informed choices and access other sources of help where possible.

What is a celebrant and how can they help?

A celebrant leads the funeral ceremony and helps families create a meaningful and personal farewell.

Our celebrants work with you to reflect the life, values, and wishes of the person who has died, without pressure to include religious or traditional elements unless you want them.

Is there a cost for using a Fuze Foundation celebrant?

No. Where we are able to provide a celebrant, this service is offered at no cost to the family.

Do I have to use a particular funeral director?

No. You are free to choose any funeral director.

We can help you understand quotes, ask the right questions, and avoid unnecessary extras.

Can you help with simple funerals or direct cremations?

Yes. We support families arranging all types of funerals, including simple attended funerals and direct cremations. Our focus is on dignity, choice, and reducing stress.

Can you help before a death has occurred?

No. We can only provide support after a death has taken place, when funeral arrangements are being made.

How do I get in touch or ask for help?

You can contact us directly through our website or by phone.

We also accept referrals from funeral directors, support workers, and other organisations.

What information will I need to provide?

We may ask for:

  • Basic details about the person who has died

  • Information about the funeral arrangements

  • Your contact details and how we can best support you

We keep requests for information to a minimum and treat everything confidentially.

How quickly can you help?

We understand funerals are time-sensitive.

We aim to respond as quickly as possible, though availability of support and celebrants may vary.

Will contacting you affect my benefits or finances?

No. Getting support from the Fuze Foundation does not affect your benefits or financial situation.

What if you can’t help me directly?

If we’re unable to help directly, we will still:

  • Listen and offer emotional support

  • Provide practical advice

  • Signpost you to other organisations that may be able to help

You don’t have to face this alone.

Is the support confidential?

Yes. All contact with the Fuze Foundation is treated with confidentiality, care, and respect.

Why does the Fuze Foundation exist?

We exist because too many people face overwhelming stress and confusion when arranging a funeral.

Our aim is to ensure every family can say goodbye with dignity, clarity, and compassion—without feeling pressured, judged, or alone.

The Fuze Foundation Commitment

We believe everyone deserves dignity in death and fairness in cost. If you are struggling or unsure where to turn, you are not alone. Support and options do exist.

We support people facing financial pressure at the time of bereavement. Everyone deserves dignity, choice, and fairness – without being pushed into debt.
