The Cherokee blanket ceremony: a tradition of love, warmth, and protection 💙This blanket ceremony is a well known symbolic ritual in Native American wedding traditions, particularly within Cherokee culture. The blanket itself represents warmth, protection, and comfort - essential elements for a strong and enduring marriage.Traditionally, the ceremony begins with the couple wrapped in separate blue blankets, symbolising their past struggles and sorrows. As the ceremony progresses, these blankets are replaced with a shared white blanket, signifying their unity and the peace and joy of their marriage moving forward.For Lindsay and Michael, our @celebrant_jane_alexander adapted this meaningful tradition to suit their personal vow renewal. Instead of transitioning from blue to white blankets, they focused on the theme of family unity, using one of Lindsay’s own handsewn blue blankets to symbolise their ongoing journey together.One of the most beautiful elements of this blanket ceremony was the way Lindsay incorporated her love of textiles into the day. She invited each guest to bring a small piece of fabric to the ceremony - each swatch representing a unique connection to their family. Her plan? To stitch together these contributions into a special heirloom blanket for their son, filled with the love, memories, and blessings of those who celebrated with them.Meanwhile, the blue ceremony blanket will take pride of place in their home as a cherished reminder of this incredible day—just as Cherokee tradition dictates.Such a beautiful and personal way to renew your marriage vows! 💙Images: @gardnerhamiltonFollow the link in the story to read Jane’s full blog 🔍

♥️ This Valentines day, our belief body, The Fuze Foundation is celebrating love in action by reaffirming its commitment to supporting wonderful Scottish charities.Following a vote by our members, we are delighted to announce that our charity partners for March 2025 to February 2026 are @mndscotland and @beatsoncharity ⭐️#teamfuze are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our communities across Scotland ♥️From every legal wedding ceremony we conduct a % of our fee goes to our nominated charities via our foundation! 💌For years, the Fuze Foundation has been raising awareness, supporting those in need, and contributing thousands of pounds to Scottish charities.We have championed initiatives such as tackling funeral poverty and providing ceremonies at no cost for those facing hardship.With a combination of wedding ceremony fee donations and team fundraising efforts, we are on track to raise an estimated £11,000 over the next 12 months for our chosen charities.THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU for helping us achieve this! ♥️Take a read of our blog, link in the story, to find out more about The Fuze Foundation and our charity support 👆
