After attending a few Humanist ceremonies, something clicked for Terry. He found himself drawn to the values at the heart of Humanism. Kindness, fairness, inclusion, and the belief that we shape our own lives through compassion and connection. It didn’t take long for him to realise: this is me. That’s when he decided to train as a Celebrant.
Terry believes in a world where everyone’s voice matters - where human rights, free speech, and democracy aren’t just ideals, but essentials. His values have grown and deepened over the years, shaped by life experience and a natural instinct to care for others. He’s the kind of person who brings warmth into a room without trying. He is naturally thoughtful, gentle, and genuinely kind.
His career path has been as varied as it’s been people-focused: from social care to retail, hospitality to finance. And for over two decades, he’s also volunteered in his local community, always finding ways to support and uplift those around him. Whether it’s chatting over a cuppa or helping someone through a tough time, Terry knows how to connect and how to listen.
He understands that everyone’s journey is different. Our passions shift, our dreams evolve, and what brings us joy can change with time. That’s why Terry approaches each ceremony with fresh eyes and an open heart. He’s got the skills, the empathy, and the experience to craft something truly special. A ceremony that feels personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.

Terry is based in Midlothian and covers Ayrshire, East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire, Edinburgh & Lothian, Glasgow City & East /West Dunbartonshire and North & South Lanarkshire, but is happy to travel further afield within Scotland on prior agreement.
