Eric MacKenzie

Eric MacKenzie, Celebrant

Eric is available for Vow Renewals and Funeral Ceremonies

Eric is based in Glasgow and covers Aberdeenshire & Moray, Argyll & Bute, Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway, East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire, Edinburgh & Lothian, Glasgow City & East /West Dunbartonshire, Inverness-shire, North & South Lanarkshire, Perthshire, Fife & Angus, Scottish Borders and Stirlingshire

Eric is a people person through and through. Family, connection and celebrating life’s meaningful moments sit at the very centre of who Eric is and how he work as a celebrant.

Eric's working life began far from ceremonies and scripts, back in his early days he worked a 9–5 job as a tyre fitter. While the job itself paid the bills, the part he truly loved was the people. Chatting with customers, sharing stories, having a laugh, that human connection was what made each day worthwhile. Looking back, it’s no surprise that this sparked a much bigger journey.

That journey led Eric into social work, where he found his true vocation. For many years now Eric has worked closely with people with learning disabilities and autism. This career has shaped him deeply. It has taught him the importance of listening properly, meeting people where they are, and celebrating individuals for exactly who they are. At heart, Eric has a genuine passion to serve others, to make people feel seen, valued and understood, and that passion flows naturally into his work as a celebrant.

Family is everything to Eric. He lives with his partner Karen in their happy, busy, blended family. Between them they have six sons, and their youngest, their baby son, is the very best of them both. Life at home is full, noisy, loving and real, and Eric wouldn’t have it any other way. When he's not working, you’ll usually find him spending time with his family, watching football, enjoying movie nights, and soaking up the everyday moments that really matter.

Eric's eyes were first opened to the beauty of personalised ceremonies back in 2006, when he attended a humanist wedding. It was unlike anything he had experienced before, warm, meaningful, full of personality and completely centred on the couple and their story. That day stayed with him.

Alongside his love for people, Eric has a real passion for writing, particularly creative writing. He love's finding the right words, shaping stories, adding colour, humour and heart. As a celebrant, this allows him to craft ceremonies that are personal, engaging and memorable, whether it’s a celebration of life, or a vow renewal that honours years of love.

Yvonne just loves getting to know people, a bubbly, happy person who gets super excited about love and anything shiny. She adores writing personal and unique love stories, creating, and conducting a ceremony that will not only be remembered by you for years to come, but by your family and friends too.

As a Fuze bride herself, Yvonne has firsthand experience. From meeting with you both for the first time, throwing around ideas on symbolic gestures like handfasting, or drinking from the quaich, through to being there for you both on the day. She appreciates how exciting each stage is and knows how wonderful it is to hear your own personal story as you make your vows to one another.

The idea of becoming a Humanist Celebrant came as she traveled around the NC500 with her husband Allan and their 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Skye. As a couple, their joy of traveling around Scotland and its islands played an important part in their wedding ceremony. As they reminisced about how special their wedding day was, Yvonne decided that she was going to train to become a Marriage Officer herself.

Humanist ceremonies are about you, there are no limits on what shapes your ceremony or where you have it, and that is a beautiful thing. Get in touch with Yvonne to share your story and start to build your perfect ceremony.

Chris Alexander

Chris Alexander, Celebrant

Chris is available to blether for and conduct Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewals, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

As an actor Chris has found himself travelling the world. A passion for folk and their stories and the connections, long or short that immeasurably inspire us all our days.

It’s crucial to Chris that your ceremony is your story. In joy or grief.

As a person it was a saunter on El Camino Santiago that ignited a want to aid people. “We share stories all the time.  A simple hello could have a million possibilities.” As an outdoor lover, a pal to nature and Munro bagger, Chris is happy to do any ceremony, wherever you want. Mountains, beauty spots of Scotland(What a country) to jumping in the sea(After we’ve checked for sharks). Or the local hall! Nothing is off limits. Mother Nature is a wonderful sculptor.

It was a natural flow to combine the skills as an actor and place it in humanist ceremonies. I love working with people. Travelling is a passion. “It seemed to me, to continue meeting new folk, hearing stories and sharing those stories to the people they love the most, becoming a celebrant is a new bubble of joy. It’s an honour to give the journey of a life to people that love the person or people.”

A humanist ceremony is the perfect way to include anything you want. Let's have a blether.

Chris is based in Ayrshire and conducts ceremonies throughout Scotland.

Buen Camino!
