Neil has worked in communications throughout his career so is adept at putting his presentation, writing and people skills to great use to ensure you have a memorable ceremony that tells your story.

In his spare time, Neil is very much a family man with his wife of over 12 years and two sons. He is usually found driving his sons to various clubs and activities. Neil is also an avid sports fan.

Gina Williams

Gina’s career in local government involves working closely with others and building great working relationships. An outgoing, warm and friendly person, Gina is quick to build a rapport and enjoys getting to know her clients. Confident and reliable, you will be in good hands when it comes to preparing for your ceremony. Gina loves hearing your stories and life experiences and, with her talent and flair for writing, she will handcraft a unique, memorable and highly personal ceremony with you.

The beauty of a non-religious wedding ceremony is that it can be anything you want, anywhere you want it. Gina will ensure your ceremony is joyous, meaningful and truly reflective of you as a couple. Family, friends and even pets can be involved in the ceremony. Gina has an adventurous spirit and loves a challenge. She has participated in a number of charity fitness events such as Tough Mudder, the Moon Walk and trekking to Machu Picchu. She has a passion for the outdoors, riding horses and hill walking and would be delighted to accommodate your wishes, no matter where you dream of getting married!

Including appropriate rituals, such as handfasting, poetry and readings can give your ceremony meaning, romanticism and humour. Gina can help you select appropriate elements for inclusion, that are the perfect match for you as a couple. A naturally organised person, who thrives on keeping busy, Gina will guide you through the process and support you on your special day.

Allan Kidd

Allan Kidd, Celebrant

‘It’s always a pleasure and a privilege to help any family whether it’s to conduct their marriage or arrange and support them through a funeral ceremony.’

Having worked as a funeral celebrant for some time, it was a natural succession to go forward and marry people too, initially inspired by Anne Widdop the founder of Fuze when she conducted two funerals within the family Allan decided to use his public speaking skills and interest in helping people when they are at their most vulnerable.

After a career within the social care industry for 20 years Allan decided to change his focus and now works within a large company within the brewing industry and manages some of their contact centre services. Allan also loves to meet and develop relationships with the people he is working with as he believes that’s when you get the best out of them.

Allan has been married to his wife Vicky for over 12 years and has a step son and twin girls, when he is not working he loves to spend time on family days out and spending time making memories.

Always open to new ideas and with a passion for inclusion and diversity Allan, whilst always able to give advice, will also incorporate all your ideas for you to have a very unique and memorable time.

Oskar Gilchrist-Grodnicki

Oskar Gilchrist-Grodnicki, Celebrant

Oskar is an experienced wedding professional who has been involved in the wedding industry since 2009, running, delivering and planning over 600 weddings this far. Over the past 6 years, he’s received an accolade of awards including the most recent Your Scottish Wedding Award 2022.

He loves keeping on top of the latest wedding trends, therefore, you can often see him blogging and providing advice and support for wedding planning couples online or in some of the biggest Scottish wedding editorials.

Becoming a humanist celebrant was a natural next step for him. When getting married to his husband George in a humanist ceremony back in January 2018, Oskar found a lot of interest in humanist ceremonies and how personal and elevating the ceremony experience can be.

Oskar is known for his professionalism, helpfulness and above all his can do attitude. His ceremony writing style can be described as warm-hearted, romantic, yet charming and fun.

Originally from Legnica, Poland, he has fallen in love with Edinburgh in 2008 and made it his permanent home since. This is why Oskar can also write wedding scripts in the polish language.

Oskar ma wiele lat doświadczenia, pracując przy weselach już od 2009 roku. Od tamtej pory, Oskar zorganizował, przygotował i dostarczył już ponad 600 wesel i ślubów. Przez ostanie 6 lat, Oskar otrzymał już wiele wyróżnień za jego prace, włącznie z Your Scottish Wedding Award w 2022 roku.

Oskar uwielbia interesować się wszelkimi nowościami na rynku weselnym, dlatego też często będziecie mogli go widzieć publikując, albo edytując blogi, które pomagają parom młodym w planowaniu ich wesela lub ślubu. Niektóre z nich publikowane są w najpopularniejszych magazynach weselnych w Szkocji.

Podjęcie się szkolenia na Celebranta Humanistycznego było dla niego następnym naturalnym krokiem w karierze. Kiedy sam brał ślub humanistyczny z Jego mężem George’m w 2018 roku obudziła się w nim ciekawość na to jak bardzo spersonalizowane i podnoszące na duchu mogą być właśnie ceremonie humanistyczne.

Oskar jest uważany za osobę profesjonalną, pomocną i także taką która chętnie spróbuje coś nowego. Jego styl pisania scenariuszy ceremonii jest uważany za romantyczny, a także urzekający i wesoły.

Oskar pochodzi z Polski, a dokładniej z Legnicy, a przyjechał do Edynburga na studia w 2008 roku i zakochał się w tym szczególnym miejscu na ziemi. Dlatego też Oskar może napisać Waszą ceremonie w całości, albo po części w języku polskim.

Alex Paton

Alex is the people’s person; the person you want to be by your side, whether it would be in sadness for support; or in happiness for laughter. Therefore, it was a natural career step in becoming a celebrant with Fuze ceremonies.

Alex says being a humanist celebrant will continue to allow him to meet amazing people, hear amazing stories of their life and help people make or relive memories. Alex believes making people happy is the greatest gift you can give someone.

No ceremony should be the same. It is that person’s special day and with the ability to listen to every special detail in the person’s life, Alex will create that memorable day.

Much of his career has been bringing memories of happiness, joy, fun and laughter to people. From organising major music events to DJing in all over the world. A known DJ in the Northern Soul, Indie, Punk, SKA music and the Scooter Scene.

His personality and appearance are one you will love from start. A modern look that everyone will talk about. In his spare time he is a big fitness fanatic, from core fitness to walking and running.

He lives with his wife and his dog Elvis and shares every activity in his life with them. He is also a big supporter of Cancer Research UK and other charities, which he has helped to raise much needed money over the years.

Marie McWilliams

Marie McWilliams, Celebrant

Marie worked in the care sector for more than 30 years and always enjoyed working with people and helping them to fulfil their potential.

She was drawn to Humanism, as she felt that ceremonies should be centred around those who are celebrating or being celebrated.

Marie trained as a Humanist Celebrant so she could work closely with couples to celebrate life events and support families to remember their loved one in a unique and personal way.

She has been married for more than 20 years, and has two teenage sons, who keep her pretty busy. Marie loves being outdoors and can be seen braving the waves at her local beaches, in all weathers! She also enjoys spending time with friends and is a member of a local amateur dramatic group, which have been presenting annual musical productions for over 100 years in their local theatre.

Marie feels that being involved with couples and families and helping them to create a unique ceremony is a real honour. One which she is committed to ensuring that is perfect for her customers.

As a wedding coordinator, Pauline lives and breathes weddings! From a young age, Pauline has had a real passion for weddings, with full credit and inspiration going to Jennifer Lopez in her 2001 blockbuster, The Wedding Planner. After spending the last 5 years working with couples at Òran Mór planning and coordinating different elements of their big day, she is delighted to now be able to help couples plan their ceremony.

Pauline is always up for a new challenge and is excited to work with couples looking to add new and unique elements to their wedding ceremony.

When Pauline isn’t talking weddings, she enjoys eating out and spending time with friends and family, and her favourite role in life is being an Auntie P.

John Tonner

John Tonner, Celebrant

John is available to conduct Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewals, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

As a former soldier and police officer, John has dedicated his life to helping others. John also plays a role in helping young adults aged 12 – 18 yrs choose a path of self-belief and community spirit through work with the Army Cadet Force. As a Director with two businesses dedicated to reducing unemployment and poverty, John loves to be involved in community based projects, where he uses presentation skills to deliver training, coaching and mentoring to those struggling.

John began to take an interest in Humanism after attending a number of weddings and found great satisfaction when he too was married in a Humanist ceremony. He remembers it as a very special and beautiful occasion and he saw first-hand what a difference it makes to have a personalised ceremony for such an important celebration.

John realised he had already developed many of the skills needed and with a willingness to help others pursued his goal to become a celebrant himself. With community values at heart, John chose Fuze because of the foundations it was started from and he wanted to be a part of what it delivers for those in need.

John believes in the Humanist values, and feels couples today are deeply committed to having a ceremony which reflects them as people. He enjoys meeting people, hearing stories of their journey together, and it gives him great pleasure creating a ceremony which is personal to them and which they and their guests will remember long after the event.

John understands that it is an honour and a privilege to be able to help bereaved families and friends plan funerals for their loved ones. He knows that a Humanist ceremony allows deep sensitivity to their wishes and that the tribute does justice to the person and the life that has been.

Many parents today wish to gather their friends and family together to celebrate the naming of their baby. It is a joy to be part of this special welcoming day and John wants to be able to help parents and those chosen as guides and mentors to show their love and gratitude for the gift of having a child.

Janice Hendry

Janice Hendry, Celebrant

Janice has worked with people throughout her career and is currently a Chief Executive in a Charity for children and young people. In the early days of her career, she studied business administration and business management which has been the backbone of her success in her employment.

When she got married and started her family, Janice realised her dreams and aspirations were to help people, work in the community. raise funds and generally be a part of community life. She secured a post as a Youth Development Officer with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme working with under-privileged young people to help them achieve their Bronze Award. This followed by being a Coordinator of a Youth Information Project providing young people with information and advice on a range of life topics and this was before the days of the internet therefore all footwork and real research!

Young people and families have always been at the centre of her working and personal life. To help people realise their potential by mentoring and encouragement is at the heart of everything she believes in. A brilliant networker and public speaker, she has the confidence to listen, speak and deliver a presentation that is captivating and memorable.

Janice took an interest in Humanism after attending humanist events and feels that personal and moving tributes should rightly tell a life story, in all types of ceremony. Janice will create a meaningful personal account of your lives, your journeys and your future aspirations told in an unforgettable way.

Joanne Caird

Joanne decided to undertake the training to become a celebrant as it feels like a true calling to her. Being an optimistic, approachable woman who loves to meet new people, she feels this is a role that will always bring her great joy. Joanne has always enjoyed writing and put’s her skills and training to great use, letting her creative juices flow!

Based in Glenrothes, Fife, Joanne is an out-going, passionate, and warm-hearted individual who can always be found wearing a smile on her face. She loves all things organization. Joanne has worked in elderly care for several years and has been lucky enough to see first-hand life-long partners who have grown old together, whose love has never faded. To be there at the beginning of a couple’s journey as a married couple is something Joanne finds very rewarding.

Joanne is a very adventurous individual who is not afraid to try new experiences and think outside of the box. She understands that each couple is unique and aims to ensure each couple’s personality shines through on their special day. One of Joanne’s main objectives is to turn a couple’s pre-wedding butterflies into wedding day bliss, joy, laughter, and love.
