Faces of the Fuze Foundation: Yvonne Hannah

February 23, 2026by Morag Webster

In our latest Faces of the Foundation feature, we’re delighted to introduce Yvonne.   A Humanist Celebrant whose journey began in rural Perthshire and has grown into a calling centred on connection, compassion and meaningful ceremonies.

From muddy boots and tattie fields to 250 weddings (and counting), Yvonne’s story is one of heart, adventure and deep respect for life’s most important moments.  Married by our own Morag Webster a decade ago, her celebrant journey is beautifully intertwined with the Fuze story itself.

Read on to discover what inspires her, why she loves this work so deeply, and how ceremony has shaped her own life.

Rooted in Rural Perthshire, Inspired by People & Celebration

I grew up in rural Perthshire, where life was shaped by wide open spaces, seasonal work and a strong connection to the land.  Fruit picking, tattie harvesting and muddy boots were simply part of everyday life, experiences that instilled a deep appreciation for community, hard work and the simple beauty of the countryside.

Now an honorary Fifer, I’ve called Dunfermline home for more than 20 years, where I live with my lovely husband Allan, blending my rural roots with a life built around people, stories and meaningful celebration. Those early years continue to influence how I approach every ceremony. Grounded, heartfelt and centred on genuine human connection.

Coastlines, Adventure & a Love of Getting Off Grid

When we’re not working, you’ll often find us chasing Scotland’s most breathtaking coastlines. The Highland West Coast and the Inner and Outer Hebrides hold a very special place in our hearts.

There’s something truly magical about switching off, wandering vast white sandy beaches and dipping toes into that astonishing turquoise sea. A reminder that some of the world’s most beautiful places are right on our doorstep.

The CBC: City Break Club

While we love wide open spaces, we’re also unapologetic lovers of a great city break. With our wonderful circle of friends, affectionately known as The CBC (City Break Club) we’ve explored Berlin, Krakow, Washington, Canada, New York City and the Amalfi Coast.

Whether it’s a weekend escape or a long-haul adventure, we believe in making memories, celebrating friendships and saying yes to new experiences.

How My Celebrant Journey Began

Allan and I were married ten years ago this year by the fabulous Morag Webster at Crieff Hydro Hotel. It was our wedding day that quietly planted the seed for what would become my true calling.

Years later, while travelling the iconic NC500, I turned to Allan and said, “I’m going to go for it.” Sometimes, the biggest life changes begin with the simplest, most certain sentence.

Why I LOVE Being a Celebrant

Being a celebrant is not just what I do, it’s who I am. While weddings are filled with joy, laughter and unforgettable moments, I also hold a deep respect for life’s more tender chapters.

Supporting families through loss and creating meaningful, beautifully personal funeral ceremonies is an honour I approach with great care and compassion.

I am incredibly proud to be part of the Fuze Foundation. We not only support two charities every year, but we also support families facing loss and financial hardship through initiatives designed to alleviate funeral poverty.

I’ve conducted many funerals over the years, including one for my own family when my uncle sadly passed away at just 52. It was the most emotionally challenging ceremony I’ve ever led and also one of the most meaningful. Standing in that space for my own family strengthened my belief in how powerful ceremony truly is. I’ve also supported many close friends as they’ve said goodbye to loved ones, and it’s a privilege I never take lightly.

250 Weddings & Counting…

To date, I’ve had the honour of conducting around 250 wedding ceremonies. Each one entirely unique, deeply personal and full of love. What I treasure most is the connection: hearing your story, understanding your journey, and standing alongside you as you speak vows that will shape the rest of your lives.

Every ceremony is crafted with care, intention and a touch of magic ensuring your wedding is not only unforgettable, but unmistakably you.

This year is wonderfully full, next year is shaping up beautifully, and 2028 is already beginning to fill. A true reflection of the trust couples place in me to hold such an important moment in their lives.

I’ve been a celebrant for five years now, and I truly cannot imagine doing anything else. This is my passion, my purpose, and the work I feel incredibly grateful to do every single day.

Here’s to love, laughter, meaningful moments and creating ceremonies that are as extraordinary as the people at the heart of them.

Together, we are the Fuze Foundation — and I’m proud to play my part.

About The Fuze Foundation

The Fuze Foundation is a Scottish not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting Humanist values, supporting equality and inclusivity, and reducing funeral poverty across Scotland. Through the work of our trained Fuze Celebrants, we provide meaningful, personalised Humanist ceremonies for people from all backgrounds –  ensuring that everyone has access to dignity, compassion, and choice at life’s most significant moments.

We offer free and low-cost funeral ceremonies for families experiencing financial hardship, and a portion of every legal Humanist wedding ceremony is donated directly to our charity partners, including organisations such as MND Scotland, Beatson Cancer Charity, CHAS, SAMH, Alzheimer Scotland and more.

Our mission is simple: to make a positive difference to people’s lives through kindness, community, fairness and connection.
Every ceremony delivered, every pound raised, and every act of support helps us continue this work.
