From “I Do” to Goodbye — 14 Years of Standing Beside You

February 26, 2026by Morag Webster

Thousands of couples married.  Thousands of families supported.
£120,000 given back to our communities.

Since 2012, The Fuze Foundation has worked alongside our team of Humanist Celebrants across Scotland to deliver meaningful wedding ceremonies and dignified funeral services, while giving back to the communities we serve.

Through our unique model, a portion of every marriage ceremony fee supports charitable partnerships and provides practical help to families facing hardship.

As we reach the end of another year, we reflect on the impact made, the lives supported, and the difference compassion can create when put into action.

On 28th February, we close the chapter on our 14th year.

And what a chapter it has been.

Since our formation, The Fuze Foundation has supported over 15,000 couples as they said “I do” and stood beside over 3,000 families as they said goodbye. Along the way, we have given nearly £120,000 in financial donations and services in kind to charities and communities across Scotland.

Those numbers matter.

But what they truly represent matters more.

They represent dignity at times of grief.
They represent celebration at life’s happiest moments.
They represent compassion turned into practical action.

None of this happens without our dedicated team of Humanist Celebrants.

Every free funeral service delivered to a family in crisis.  Every wedding ceremony gifted to a couple who needed support.  Every conversation handled with care and professionalism.

Our team lives the Fuze Foundation’s purposes every single day.

A Year of Change and Continuity

This year, we say a formal farewell to MND Scotland as a charity partner.

While the formal partnership concludes, our connection does not.

“We are incredibly grateful for the partnership and support provided over the last year. The funds raised, and awareness generated, have made a meaningful difference to people living with MND and their families across Scotland. We thank the team for their compassion and commitment.” – Lynne Wiseman, Fundraising Lead, MND Scotland

We remain deeply proud of what was achieved together, and many within our team will continue their individual support and fundraising efforts for causes close to their hearts.

We are equally proud to continue our partnership with Beatson Cancer Charity.

“Support from The Fuze Foundation helps us continue delivering essential services to patients and families facing cancer. Community partnerships like this are vital in ensuring no one faces cancer alone. We are proud to continue working together.” – Heilidh Wilson, Corporate Fundraiser, Beatson Cancer Charity

And following our recent membership vote, we are delighted to formally reconnect with Alzheimer Scotland.

“We are delighted to strengthen our relationship once again. Support from organisations rooted in compassion and community makes a real difference to people living with dementia and those who care for them.” – Molly Wright, Fundraising & Engagement Coordinator, Alzheimer Scotland

Alongside these partnerships, we continue to support the vital work of Funeral Link and Caledonia Funeral Aid, helping ensure that no one faces funeral poverty alone.

How It Works

A portion of every legal marriage ceremony fee through Fuze Ceremonies is donated directly to the Foundation.

Every couple who chooses us plays a part in this wider impact.

Love quite literally creates legacy.

And when families come to us in crisis, we step in quietly and practically, because that is what community means.

Looking Ahead to Year 15

Fourteen years in, our ambition remains clear:

To support more couples.
To stand beside more families.
To strengthen more communities.
To promote dignity, inclusion and compassion in everything we do.

As we look ahead to year 15, our Chair, Morag Webster, reflects on what has always mattered most:

“When we started, our aim was simple.  We strived to create meaningful ceremonies and ensure compassion sat at the heart of everything we do. Fourteen years on, I am incredibly proud of our team and the difference they continue to make. The Fuze Foundation has always been about more than ceremonies; it is about people.   Couples beginning their lives together, families navigating grief, and communities supporting one another.  I am deeply grateful to our celebrants, our partners and every couple who chooses us.  Together, we continue to turn compassion into action.”

If you would like to be part of our next chapter,  whether by booking a ceremony, fundraising, volunteering, or championing a charity close to your own heart, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we turn compassion into action.
Together, we are The Fuze Foundation.
