At the Fuze Foundation, we’re passionate about giving back, not only as an organisation, but through the everyday actions of our incredible celebrant team. One shining example of this is John Tonner, a Fuze celebrant who recently volunteered his professional services time and expertise to support a brand new Edinburgh-based charity: House of Hope.
House of Hope is a community wellbeing centre set up to support those affected by breast cancer. It was founded by Lisa Fleming, who is currently living with secondary cancer and channelled her experience into creating a safe, supportive space for others on similar journeys.
You can find out more about their work here: houseofhope.org.uk
John stepped in to help this inspiring project in his other professional capacity by offering Health & Safety training, First Aid certification, and practical safety advice to Lisa and her team, all completely free of charge. And he’s not stopping there. John will soon return to deliver First Aid for Mental Health training to House of Hope’s volunteers and PAT test their equipment, helping to ensure the space is safe, fully compliant, and ready to support those in need.
This act of generosity is a brilliant example of the Fuze celebrant give-back spirit in action. Our celebrants often go beyond the ceremony to support their communities, contributing their time, skills, and care where it matters most.
John’s efforts also beautifully reflect the core values of humanism: compassion, practical action, community, and dignity for all. At the Fuze Foundation, we’re proud to champion these values not only through our ceremonies, but through the real-life impact of the people behind them.
Thank you, John, for embodying everything we stand for. Your support of House of Hope is a powerful reminder of how much one person can contribute, and how, together, we can help shape a more compassionate world.
