Kay Falconer

Kay Falconer, Celebrant

Over the last 40 years, Kay has worked as a veterinary surgeon in a variety of places in Scotland, the north of England and in Northern Ireland. It may seem a strange progression from this to being a celebrant but in truth the roles do share certain properties. The job of a vet is not solely spent working with the animals themselves but is about working with the owners/carers of the animals, talking to them, and listening to their stories. Not dissimilar in fact to the job of a celebrant, finding out about the clients, piecing their stories together and leading to a uniquely personal service for them.

Kay has travelled throughout her life as a hopeful romantic and when she moved to Lewis in the Outer Hebrides she felt that she had come home. Having settled in this stunning part of the world it feels that there can be no better place to be involved in providing unique & meaningful ceremonies. The scenery is stunning with lochs and mountains, golden beaches and azure seas, though a little on the cold side.

Kay feels very strongly that ceremonies belong you and should be very much your choice, your ideas, and with some guidance from the celebrant, make the day an occasion that is uniquely and unforgettably yours.

Kay believes the name given to you as a baby is an important one, bestowed by your parents and by which you will be known for the rest of your life. This is not something to be done lightly and so it is right and fitting that a day be given to honour this among friends and family, to celebrate the uniqueness of the child and welcome them into the family.

At a time when we are devastated by the loss of a loved one it is equally important to focus on those aspects of their life that gave us pleasure and made them the person they were and this needs to be presented in a positive way, that is to be celebrated. Kay has had personal experience of this having performed the eulogies at the funerals of her own parents albeit two people she knew very well. It was when she attended the funeral of a much loved uncle, conducted at the graveside by a celebrant, and from whom she learned a great deal more than she had already known about him, that she realized the benefits of such a personal service.

Her celebration of his life that day made Kay feel that she wanted to be able to perform that service for other people, to present the loved one to them as an individual, each one of us special in our own way, and perhaps even to make them smile. You can contact Kay on kayfalconer@fuzeceremonies.co.uk or you can see more of Kay on Facebook

Sam Conroy

Sam Conroy, Celebrant

“My passion is to help others create little pieces of happiness too, both in celebrating love and celebrating life.”

Sam is available to conduct Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewals, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

What's the secret to happiness? You can find it in nature, in family, in shared history, and maybe, just maybe, you can find it here. J.M Barrie - creator of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and a thousand magical memories - said it best: 'Not in doing what you like, but in liking what you do, is the secret to happiness'.

Sam is based, not in Neverland but in the heart of lovely Scotland. Living with her husband, daughter and her adorable dogs (her world!), She loves nothing more than spending time with family and friends. For many years Sam has worked within the social care sector supporting and working alongside some of society’s most vulnerable and disenfranchised groups, roles that have not only allowed her to garner great interpersonal skills but have enabled her to do the other thing she loves the most, working with people.

Now, as a qualified celebrant, Sam gets to do that in a different way, by helping people to celebrate life rather than helping them to relearn how to live it. She can't think of any better way to spend the rest of her working days, than surrounded by love! Each ceremony is exclusive, exquisite, personalised and unique. Inclusive and welcoming. Infused with joy, happiness and love and most importantly, it is infused with you, your loved ones and those you hold dearest to you.

Mr Barrie was right. And Sam doesn't just like what she does - she loves it. And can't wait to work with you, to plan the most magical and beautiful script, and deliver the most memorable ceremony on your very special day.

Sam is based in Cumbernauld and covers Argyll & Bute, Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway, East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire, Edinburgh & Lothian, Glasgow City & East /West Dunbartonshire, Inverness-shire, North & South Lanarkshire, Perthshire, Fife & Angus, Scottish Borders and Stirlingshire

Fiona would describe herself as a people person and a natural networker! She eludes warmth and has a wicked sense of humour. During her early career, she was a nurse and has spent the last 18 years working in the marketing, communications and creative industries. Whether a love-story or life-story, Julie-Anne will listen to you and work with you to create your unique ceremony. As a Humanist Celebrant she will guide and support you when exploring specifics such as personalised vows, how you want your love-story or the life-story of a loved one to be shared, the music, poetry or readings you want to include, how you want to involve others (people or pets!) in the ceremony, inclusion of symbolic gestures and any other quirks or details to make your ceremony personal and meaningful.

Anna Gilchrist

Anna Gilchrist

Anna is available to conduct Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewals, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

Anna believes it is a tremendous honour to be present at people's most significant moments. When asked what she loves most about being a Celebrant, she says: 'I love listening to people's stories, learning about their lives, and discovering what brought them to this moment in time. Using these details to craft a personalised ceremony that reflects the individuality of each person is my favourite thing to do.'

Anna has had a diverse career, encompassing various roles in administration, systems management, procurement and project management. She was particularly adept at customer service and prided herself on going the extra mile to ensure client satisfaction. As a child, Anna always knew she wanted to work in an office, but after spending 19 years cooped up in one, she yearned to get out and interact with people. This desire led her to pursue a career as a Celebrant, where she could celebrate the joys and milestones of others' lives.

When she isn’t working on a ceremony or shuttling her two children between school and extracurricular activities, Anna enjoys spending time in nature and solving jigsaw puzzles. She loves a turn on the floor as a tap dancer, which is where her love of performance comes from.

Anna is based near Edinburgh and covers Edinburgh & Lothian.

Morna Kidd

Morna Kidd

Morna is available to conduct Wedding, Civil Partnership, Vow Renewal & Funeral Ceremonies.

Working in marketing within the financial services industry, Morna knows the importance of being able to tell a story, honestly, with creativity, accuracy and attention to detail.

The idea of becoming a humanist celebrant first crossed Morna’s mind after she wrote and delivered a poem at a friend’s daughters naming day in 2014. A few of the guests asked if she’d ever considered becoming a celebrant. The seed was planted, “and the rest” as they say was history.

Morna says “Choosing to enquire with Fuze was the best thing I ever did. From initial contact through training, and being accepted to join the team, it was made clear that the celebrants at Fuze are less “colleagues” and more family. It’s less of a job and more of a way of life. Always there to help and guide one another. Striving for the best for every couple and family. A team like no other.”

Anyone who knows Morna will say, she’s a passionate story teller, relaying the facts in a way that brings them to life. Making those hearing the story for the first time feel like they were there. With a keen eye for detail, and the ability to bring a light hearted humorous side to your day, her goal is to bring your vision to life.

And she’s happy to do as much or as little as you wish, whether you have no idea where to start, or you have a very specific vision of how your day will go, Morna’s job is to be there for you. Her motto is “your day, your way”. No matter the story, Morna wants to hear all about what makes yours special and turn it into a story to be told.

Morna is based in Glasgow and covers East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire, Glasgow City & East /West Dunbartonshire and North & South Lanarkshire.
