Alan Edwards

Alan Edwards, Celebrant

Alan’s two passions in life are music and communicating - skills that he has been able to beautifully marry (pardon the pun!) during his 15 year career as a radio presenter.

Alan was inspired to pursue life as a celebrant having spoken as a guest at both humanist wedding and funeral ceremonies to great acclaim from those present. It seemed the natural progression for him to adapt and refine his presentation and writing skills into creating memorable ceremonies that are unique and exclusive to each and every customer.

Alan is a warm-hearted, caring individual who will listen attentively to the needs and requests of each customer and help incorporate them into a ceremony that is perfect for them.

“The personal touch is what really makes a humanist ceremony stand out. Knowing that you’ve made a significant contribution to such an important day in people’s lives is incredibly fulfilling. My promise is to make each ceremony unique and thoroughly memorable – whether that be to share the joy in bringing two lives together in love. Or, to provide a warm and fitting tribute to a life lived to the full.”

Marriage is central to Alan’s life right now as, away from work, as he recently married the love of his life Kerry

He also loves his sport and has spent time during the last decade as a stadium announcer for both football and rugby clubs in Scotland.

Alan is based in Lanarkshire and covers Ayrshire, Edinburgh & Lothian, East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire, Glasgow City & East/West Dunbartonshire, North & South Lanarkshire and Stirlingshire.

Sean Kelly

Sean Kelly, Celebrant

Sean is available to conduct Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewals, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

With a background in Production, Writing, and Directing, in the TV and Film industry, moving to become a Celebrant was a natural step for Sean. Creativity and meticulous organisation go hand in hand for him, and a wealth of experience in public speaking in front of huge crowds, and intimate events, mean he will bring your ceremony to life in a way that is unique to you, and memorable to your guests.

Sean wanted to use his powers for good and actually make a difference in people’s lives, so made the leap to becoming a celebrant. From trying to get married during Covid he understands the pressures and stresses that anyone organising a life changing event can come under – but Sean believes that the journey to any big event is as important as the ceremony itself, and he will make that journey as easy as possible.

With an array of fabulous outfits and hair that rarely can barely be contained, Sean will bring his unique personality to be a great addition to your day. When Sean isn’t busy working he loves to spend time with his wife and tiny pug, Gomez. Please note that pictures of Gomez are of course available on request.

Sean says “Being a Celebrant allows me to meet people and help tell the stories they want to tell. Celebrations reflect the people having them and it is my mission to quell the mentality that a ceremony is “the boring bit” that people have to sit through to get to the party. It is my privilege to make sure you and your guests have the time of your lives. I will work closely with you to guide and advise on every aspect of your ceremony. No idea is too outlandish or wild, and there are NO stupid questions."

Kay Falconer

Kay Falconer, Celebrant

Over the last 40 years, Kay has worked as a veterinary surgeon in a variety of places in Scotland, the north of England and in Northern Ireland. It may seem a strange progression from this to being a celebrant but in truth the roles do share certain properties. The job of a vet is not solely spent working with the animals themselves but is about working with the owners/carers of the animals, talking to them, and listening to their stories. Not dissimilar in fact to the job of a celebrant, finding out about the clients, piecing their stories together and leading to a uniquely personal service for them.

Kay has travelled throughout her life as a hopeful romantic and when she moved to Lewis in the Outer Hebrides she felt that she had come home. Having settled in this stunning part of the world it feels that there can be no better place to be involved in providing unique & meaningful ceremonies. The scenery is stunning with lochs and mountains, golden beaches and azure seas, though a little on the cold side.

Kay feels very strongly that ceremonies belong you and should be very much your choice, your ideas, and with some guidance from the celebrant, make the day an occasion that is uniquely and unforgettably yours.

Kay believes the name given to you as a baby is an important one, bestowed by your parents and by which you will be known for the rest of your life. This is not something to be done lightly and so it is right and fitting that a day be given to honour this among friends and family, to celebrate the uniqueness of the child and welcome them into the family.

At a time when we are devastated by the loss of a loved one it is equally important to focus on those aspects of their life that gave us pleasure and made them the person they were and this needs to be presented in a positive way, that is to be celebrated. Kay has had personal experience of this having performed the eulogies at the funerals of her own parents albeit two people she knew very well. It was when she attended the funeral of a much loved uncle, conducted at the graveside by a celebrant, and from whom she learned a great deal more than she had already known about him, that she realized the benefits of such a personal service.

Her celebration of his life that day made Kay feel that she wanted to be able to perform that service for other people, to present the loved one to them as an individual, each one of us special in our own way, and perhaps even to make them smile. You can contact Kay on kayfalconer@fuzeceremonies.co.uk or you can see more of Kay on Facebook

Sam Conroy

Sam Conroy, Celebrant

“My passion is to help others create little pieces of happiness too, both in celebrating love and celebrating life.”

Sam is available to conduct Weddings, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewals, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

What's the secret to happiness? You can find it in nature, in family, in shared history, and maybe, just maybe, you can find it here. J.M Barrie - creator of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and a thousand magical memories - said it best: 'Not in doing what you like, but in liking what you do, is the secret to happiness'.

Sam is based, not in Neverland but in the heart of lovely Scotland. Living with her husband, daughter and her adorable dogs (her world!), She loves nothing more than spending time with family and friends. For many years Sam has worked within the social care sector supporting and working alongside some of society’s most vulnerable and disenfranchised groups, roles that have not only allowed her to garner great interpersonal skills but have enabled her to do the other thing she loves the most, working with people.

Now, as a qualified celebrant, Sam gets to do that in a different way, by helping people to celebrate life rather than helping them to relearn how to live it. She can't think of any better way to spend the rest of her working days, than surrounded by love! Each ceremony is exclusive, exquisite, personalised and unique. Inclusive and welcoming. Infused with joy, happiness and love and most importantly, it is infused with you, your loved ones and those you hold dearest to you.

Mr Barrie was right. And Sam doesn't just like what she does - she loves it. And can't wait to work with you, to plan the most magical and beautiful script, and deliver the most memorable ceremony on your very special day.

Sam is based in Cumbernauld and covers Argyll & Bute, Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway, East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire, Edinburgh & Lothian, Glasgow City & East /West Dunbartonshire, Inverness-shire, North & South Lanarkshire, Perthshire, Fife & Angus, Scottish Borders and Stirlingshire
