Celebrating a Year of Giving: Supporting Our Charity Partners

Celebrating a Year of Giving: Supporting Our Charity Partners

There are moments throughout the year that remind us why community matters.

Last Tuesday was one of those moments.

Members of The Fuze Foundation met in Glasgow to celebrate the final charity totals for the 2025–2026 year and present our partners with the final donations that bring this year of fundraising to a close.

Gathering at The Noble in Glasgow, Morag Webster, George Maclean and Laura Widdop were joined by representatives from our charity partners to mark the occasion and hand over the final “big cheque” donations.

Over coffee and conversation, the team took a moment to reflect on the year’s achievements and celebrate the collective efforts that made this fundraising possible.

Joining us were Lynne Wiseman from MND Scotland, alongside Heather Wright and Heilidh Wilson from Beatson Cancer Charity, all of whom have been incredible partners over the past year.

A Year of Incredible Support

This final presentation marked the end of a remarkable year of fundraising and community support.

Our latest donations included:

  • £300 to MND Scotland, bringing the year’s total to £4,431
  • £440 to Beatson Cancer Charity, bringing their year’s total to £4,917

Together, this means an incredible £9,348 has been raised for our charity partners over the past 12 months.

For a small foundation built around community, compassion and Humanist values, this is something we are incredibly proud of.

A portion of every marriage ceremony fee conducted by Fuze Ceremonies helps support the work of our charity partners through The Fuze Foundation. Every couple who chooses a Fuze celebrant plays a small part in helping others.

But the story does not end there.

One of the things that makes The Fuze Foundation so special is the collective spirit behind it. Every ceremony, every fundraiser, and every effort by our team contributes to something bigger. Seeing that come together in support of such important charities is something we are incredibly proud of.

The Power of Our Team

Alongside this ongoing commitment, many members of the Fuze community went the extra mile this year to raise funds and awareness.

George Maclean took on an impressive personal challenge, walking one million steps in January to support Beatson Cancer Charity.

Nancy Braid and Nicole Lowther also organised their own fundraising efforts in support of the Off The Beatson Track, helping raise additional awareness and support for the charity’s vital work.

Meanwhile, MND Scotland received wonderful support from Julie Murray and Sam Conroy, who both undertook individual fundraising efforts throughout the year.

These acts of kindness and commitment are exactly what The Fuze Foundation is all about.  People coming together to support causes that matter.

Heilidh Wilson, Corporate Fundraiser at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to The Fuze Foundation for their support over the past few years. It’s clear how much care and thought goes into the work they do, and it’s been lovely to see the community around Fuze come together to support Beatson Cancer Charity. The funds raised will help us continue providing vital services for patients and families affected by cancer across the west of Scotland.”

Saying Goodbye – But Not Farewell

This meeting also marks the end of our formal charity partnership with MND Scotland.

While we say goodbye to them as an official charity partner, it is certainly not a full farewell.

Motor Neurone Disease affects many families across Scotland, and the charity holds a special place in the hearts of many within our team and community.

We know that many of our celebrants and supporters will continue to support the charity in their own ways in the years ahead.

Lynne Wiseman, Fundraising Lead at MND Scotland, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing partnership and support from Fuze Foundation over the past year.  The team have raised over £4,000 for MND Scotland, allowing us to continue supporting families across Scotland affected by motor neuron disease (MND) and help raise important awareness about MND.  We would like to thank the full team for their support, in particular, Julie Murray and Sam Conroy, who both undertook individual fundraising efforts for MND Scotland throughout the year.  Thank you Fuze Foundation for your commitment and support of our vision of a world without motor neuron disease”.

Looking Ahead

As one chapter closes, another begins.

The support given over the past year demonstrates what can happen when people come together with shared values of compassion, generosity and community spirit.

We are deeply grateful to our charity partners for the work they do every day to support individuals and families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

We also extend heartfelt thanks to every celebrant, couple, supporter and fundraiser who has contributed to this year’s incredible total.

Together, we are proud to have raised £9,348 for charity over the past 12 months and we look forward to continuing that spirit of giving in the year ahead.
