Fuze Celebrants Conquer The Kelpies Challenge for Beatson Cancer Charity!
On the 21st February 2025, three of our incredible Fuze Ceremonies celebrants—Nancy Braid, Nicole Lowther, and Zoe Bell-Arnot—took on The Kelpies Challenge in support of Beatson Cancer Charity, one of our Fuze Foundation charity partners. This daring adventure saw them scaling the world’s largest equine sculptures, tackling ladders, cables, and suspended platforms to reach the iconic horses’ mouth before finishing with either a free-hanging abseil or a heart-racing Quick Flight rope drop!
Nicole held on tight until the fan drop kicked in!
We are beyond proud to share that not only did they complete this extraordinary feat, but they also raised over £2750 collectively (inclusive of £487 of Gift Aid) for Beatson Cancer Charity! Their determination, bravery, and commitment to making a difference have been truly inspiring.
The day was filled with excitement, nerves, and an overwhelming sense of achievement. With the wind in their hair and their safety harnesses securely in place, Nancy, Nicole, and Zoe took each challenge in their stride, pushing past any fears to reach the top. The final descent was nothing short of exhilarating, as they made their way down in style—each landing with an incredible sense of pride and accomplishment.

Hear from our incredible celebrants!
Nancy said: “When I signed up for this challenge it was in memory of loved ones; over many years I’ve lost family members including my dad and one of my brothers as well as friends dear to me.
The Beatson have also provided life saving support to many who are now in remission or able to live comfortably with this disease. It was a no brainer to participate even though I’m out of my comfort zone. On arrival my first thoughts were they’re not as high as I thought, once inside and the course had been outlined it looked like a toughy ! First up for our wee group of I went, yes it was hard and I now have bruises where you shouldn’t and I mean like wrists and ankles. An exhilarating experience one which I’m so glad I did. We should all challenge ourselves now and again although maybe next time it should be a boring rowing challenge inside a nice warm gym ! Nicole and Zoe’s support was wonderful and kept us all going. As did all the messages of support from the team both with donations and good luck messages.”

Zoe commented: “The Beatson have looked after quite a few of my loved ones (the anniversary of my brother in law fell on the day of the climb) and to have a facility like this nearby is incredible. The Beatson team are supportive, kind and encouraging and I am so proud to be part of the Kelpies challenge along with my own team members Nicole and Nancy. We are all celebrants from Fuze ceremonies and the Beatson is one of the Fuze Foundations charity partners this year. The hardest part for me was the first bit and the tightrope walk. My legs were shaking so much, however I’m thrilled to have completed and it’s an experience I’ll never forget.”
And Nicole added: “I took on the Kelpies challenge to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity. This charity is very close to my heart and helped to save my life twice after being initially diagnosed with blood cancer in 2018 and relapsing in 2023. It was much scarier and physically challenging than I expected but I am just coming up to my one year post transplant so when I finished it I felt over the moon and so proud. The other ladies done fantastic and the support from them was amazing. Go Team Fuze!”
Their fundraising efforts will go a long way in supporting Beatson Cancer Charity’s vital work, providing essential care and support to those affected by cancer. The generosity of everyone who donated has made a real impact, and we can’t thank you enough for cheering them on every step of the way!
A huge congratulations to Nancy, Nicole, and Zoe for their achievement, and a massive thank you to their fundraising total. Together, we continue to make a difference through the Fuze Foundation!
