Humanist organisation share their love with Scottish charities
Today, a day for celebrating love, The Fuze Foundation announce that after months of planning, and a final vote at their AGM, they will be supporting three amazing Scottish charities in 2022.
Established in 2012 the not for profit Humanist organisation, based in Scotland, have a team of over 50 professional Celebrants conducting Legal Humanist Wedding, Funeral and Naming Ceremonies.
Over the years they have raised thousands of pounds for Scottish charities, raised awareness about funeral poverty and provided ceremonies for those in need at no cost. Couples who choose to be
married by Fuze are supporting this ongoing work as a portion of their fee is donated to support these causes.
The charities have been named as;
Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH) work with adults and young people in over 60 communities providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools, and further education, among others.
Chloe Watson, Community and Events Fundraiser told us; “We are so thankful to The Fuze Foundation for their support of SAMH. At SAMH, we know how a mental health problem can affect everything. It can have the most profound impact on our relationships, our work, our wellbeing, and our quality of life. The funds from by The Fuze Foundation will help SAMH raise awareness, promote good mental health and support those in Scotland who need it most.”
Scottish Cot Death Trust provide a wide range of support for anyone affected by a sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI). They also provide education sessions to various audiences about Safe Sleep and how to reduce the risks.
Lynsay Allan, Executive Director explained; “I am thrilled to hear we have been chosen by The Fuze Foundation as a charity of the year. Scottish Cot Death Trust operates without government funding and reliant on 100% charitable donations. The funds we will receive from The Fuze Foundation will help us to continue our vital work as Scotland’s only charity dedicated to the issue of sudden and unexpected death in infancy and childhood.”
Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) care for children throughout Scotland, and for the whole family. Whether it’s at home, in hospital, or visiting Rachel or Robin House, they give care and support when needed.
Rebecca Addison, Trust Fundraiser said; “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen to be one of The Fuze Foundation’s charities this year. Here at CHAS, we believe that no family should face the death of their child alone and this support help us to reach more families across Scotland. 2022 is CHAS’ 30th year, and we thank everyone at The Fuze Foundation for sharing your tenth year of fundraising with us.”
Morag Webster, Trustee of The Fuze Foundation added; “The Fuze Foundation will also extend support past the normal route of financial means. This will include, but not limited to, a range of collaborations and initiatives focussing on knowledge sharing and working together to educate employees, individuals and families across a range of mutual topics.”
April 2022 also sees Fuze celebrate their 10-year anniversary. Coincidently a 10-year wedding anniversary is associated with a gift of tin or aluminium, which symbolises strength and resilience.
The Foundation aims to continue doing exactly that every day in everything that they do, and in particular as it supports SAMH, the Scottish Cot Death Trust and CHAS in 2022.
Morag concluded by adding; “We are so excited and proud to be able to support these three amazing charities who do such vital work within the community. It means a lot to everyone in the
organisation to be able to give back while doing something they love so sharing the news on Valentine’s Day makes it even more special.”
