"It’s a huge pleasure and a privilege to play a part in the great milestones in peoples’ lives, whether it’s helping to create a wedding ceremony that’s full of joy and laughter or whether it’s creating a memorable farewell for somebody."
Lucy has had a varied career so far, including being an agony aunt for a teenage magazine, managing the estate of a well-known artist, and running a couture wedding dress shop. She is now a manager in a rehab hospital and is a great believer in facing and adapting to the challenges that life throws at you – hence the mixture of careers.
Lucy has always written creatively, including stories, plays, and pantomimes, and has been an enthusiastic amateur actress for over 30 years, her proudest role being in Calendar Girls. She is also a bit of a linguist, and has the unusual skill of being able to create and conduct a ceremony in either French or Spanish (and occasionally Italian or Portuguese if needed).
To be a celebrant combines so many of the positive and exciting aspects of what she has done so far. It’s a huge pleasure and a privilege to play a part in the great milestones in peoples’ lives, whether it’s helping to create a wedding ceremony that’s full of joy and laughter or whether it’s creating a memorable farewell for somebody.
Lucy really enjoys helping people to find the perfect reading or symbolic gesture for you to make a very personal ceremony and takes great pride in working with couples and families to provide imaginative ceremonies to make their day something they will remember forever. She looks forward to making your day a unique experience for you to treasure.
"Lucy Haden conducted our ceremony on the 19.7.22 and we couldn't have asked for anyone better! Lucy was great to work with and had the script to us very quickly, allowing us to read through and make any changes in advance. The ceremony reflected us as a couple perfectly, and there was both laughter and emotion on the day from everyone present. She really helped to make our day special! Thank you Lucy!"- Lizzie
"We got married in early April 2022 in Glasgow and Lucy was the most wonderful celebrant! My husband's family is Spanish and some of our relatives don't speak English very fluently, so we decided that we needed a bi-lingual celebrant. We got in touch with Fuze and asked for bi-lingual celebrants and along came Lucy! Warm, charismatic, caring, and relaxed, from our first conversation on Zoom, we instantly felt comfortable and at ease with Lucy. To entrust such a momentous occasion as your wedding day with someone, it needed to feel right and it did with Lucy. She took a genuine interest in our love story and we really enjoyed finding out more about her path to becoming a celebrant herself. Lucy captured our story so beautifully and was on hand with ideas for readings, songs, and other fun ideas to make our ceremony personal to us - both in English and in Spanish. She arrived nice and early to greet the nervous groom and even came out to say a quick hello to me before I walked down the aisle and I instantly felt at ease seeing her in the flesh. Our Spanish family really enjoyed our ceremony too, understanding all the important little details along the way, thanks to Lucy's preparation and translation. They thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony and commented on how personalised and intimate it felt. Added to that, there wasn't a (happy) dry eye in the house! We are so delighted with our wedding ceremony and will always remember how fantastic and supportive our bi-lingual celebrant was. We would not hesitate to recommend Lucy to anyone looking to tie the knot in English or in Spanish! Thank you Lucy for making our day so special!"- Steff & Jesus
"Our celebrant for our wedding at Traquair House was the lovely Lucy Haden. Because of Covid restrictions we first met Lucy on Skype. She was such a warm, friendly person that she immediately made us feel at ease. She also took the time to get to know us properly so that on the day our ceremony was both meaningful and highly personal. She was also happy to spend time with us after the ceremony and was an important part of our very special day. We would highly recommend Lucy to anyone about to get married!"- Shelia & James
"Our celebrant Lucy Haden was absolutely incredible. Lucy kept in constant contact with us through two postponements and was always so helpful friendly and kind. She is exactly what you would expect from a celebrant she carried out our ceremony beautifully and exactly how we wanted it. We wanted something lighthearted, funny and we wanted very little to say, Lucy followed our requests but also made it nice and romantic. She also went above and beyond and helped my now husband run around and find our handfasting fabric. Can't recommend her enough, thank you so much for everything"- Michelle
"Lucy Haden was the planned celebrant for our wedding day. She travelled to our venue to meet us prior, was so lovely and personable and such an easy person to open up to and gush about our love story. She prepared the most beautiful script and one you could tell she was genuinely passionate about."- Sarah & Max

"I recently attended my first online funeral. It was a most moving experience, far more so than I expected. I felt the celebrant, Lucy Haden, must have spent much time in her research and established a good rapport with the bereaved family. Her presentation was both professional and personalised and my feedback afterwards from the bereaved family was that they were full of gratitude for her sensitive handling of what must have been a very sad day."- Mrs Molineux
