Just one of the many reasons couples decide to tie the knot in Scotland is because they can hold their ceremony virtually in any location.
Personally, my couples this year have been very fortunate with the weather on their big days and, without wanting to jinx anything, long may it continue.
At the end of June this year I had the privilege of conducting a very personal Humanist Ceremony for Katherine and Craig at the stunning Lynnhurst Hotel near Glasgow.
The Hotel, itself which is a beautifully restored Victorian building set within two acres of equally beautiful landscaped gardens, has recently undergone extensive refurbishment.
It combines modern efficiency with traditional grace, making it a truly elegant and stunning venue for that all-important special celebration.
It was a lovely ceremony, but what made it even more special was that the Bride had her heart set on holding the ceremony in the grounds of the hotel, and well, I was so delighted for her to see that on my arrival, all the seats set out in the stunning gardens waiting to be filled with guests and a groom anticipating the arrival of the beautiful bride.
It was a wonderful setting to exchange vows and they decided to tie the knot by incorporating a traditional handfasting ceremony too. After the ceremony, I pinned the knot into the Bride’s bouquet for safe keeping, but reminded her to take it back out if she was planning to throw the bouquet at the end of the evening. After all, she didn’t want to loose a lovely keepsake of the day.
Lets hope the weather continues to ‘behave’ its self so we can conduct so many more outdoor wedding ceremonies. Not only does it add to the atmosphere of the day, it’s great for topping up the tan too.
In all seriousness though, congratulations again to Mr & Mrs Stevenson and wishing all the very best to our excited couples who still have their ceremony to come. I hope it’s a perfect day for you too.
