Lochaber Hope has been part of the community since 2005. We have worked confidentially with over 600 members of the community who struggle to cope with sensitive or crisis periods in their lives
Most of the time, life ticks along fine, but when it doesn’t it can be intense and overwhelming and problems seem insurmountable, we need a safe environment and a trusted person to talk to.
Lochaber Hope is a safe, friendly place with qualified professionals who support vulnerable and ‘at risk’ people who may be coping with debt, addictions, fluctuating mental health, isolation or loss.
Our charity has been widely supported by the community, we recognise that our lives can be touched so easily by vulnerability or crisis and want to help. We have gained respect in the community, as an accessible, confidential service.
Lochaber Hope is a non-judgemental, organisation where anyone will be made to feel welcome and encouraged to belong and be comfortable to ask for the help they want or need, we have no criteria to fit into, anyone can access the services at any time.
We are currently raising funds to secure premises which will provide a safe and inspiring environment for a community ‘drop in’ to allow us to help each other by talking, listening and information sharing. It will have an IT room to help our customers who are job seeking, a training room for confidence building, motivational, personal development and job search workshops, confidential meeting rooms with staff and volunteers on hand at all times.
This year we have a lot of events in the pipeline to help us and raise money as we work towards new premises and to increase the provision of confidential counselling to young people. We are extremely grateful for the continuous effort of the people in Lochaber who graciously offer time, resources and funds to maintain and develop Lochaber Hope to be a project where the community help the community.
One of these events being the Fun, Frocks & Fundraising Fuze Ceremonies are hosting in the Nevis Centre on 26th April at 12pm where you can come along for a fun girls day out and bid on or buy great dresses for our great cause.
So, buy a ticket and come along for a fun day out and support your local community!
