14th February 2024 – The Fuze Foundation continue to share their love with Scottish charities

Today, Valentine’s Day, a day for notably celebrating love, we at The Fuze Foundation are announcing that cupid’s arrow has struck again. After a final vote at our AGM, we will be continuing to support Beatson Cancer Charity and Alzheimer Scotland as our nominated charity partners, from March 2024 until February 2025. This is the second year in succession the charities have been named.

Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for Scottish charities, raised awareness about funeral poverty and provided ceremonies for those in need at no cost. Couples who choose to be married by Fuze Ceremonies and The Fuze Foundation are supporting this ongoing work as a portion of their fee is donated to support these causes through The Fuze Foundation.

With our combined wedding ceremony fee donations and team fundraising efforts, we are on track to have raised a 12 month combined total of approximately £9,000 (to be confirmed).

See our 2023/24 give back activity for Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 (coming soon – ends February 2024).

Emma Russell, Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator said: “Following our successful partnership throughout 2023, we are delighted to have been selected for a second year as one of the Fuze Foundation’s charities for 2024 alongside Beatson Cancer Charity. Money raised in partnership with the Fuze Foundation will continue to support our vital services for people with dementia and their families, including our Freephone 24-hour Dementia Helpline, our National Dementia Advisor Service and our 25 centres across the country. Over 90,000 people in Scotland have dementia – it affects every community and every family. We are deeply thankful for this amazing support from the Fuze Foundation which will help us to ensure that nobody faces dementia alone.”

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Their aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. They provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, and they campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research. They have Dementia Resource Centres in 24 different locations across Scotland and a 24 hour helpline. They are proud of the support they offer, the campaigning work they have done and continue to do, and the research they are involved with.

Charlene Low, Regional Fundraising Manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We have absolutely loved working with the Team at Fuze over this last year, we are absolutely delighted that we have been selected as charity partner for a second year. As a charity we cannot continue to do what we do for those facing cancer without the support of businesses and individuals like Fuze. The funding we receive allows us to work on developing new services to enhance the care and support cancer patients and their families in the west of Scotland receive during their cancer journey. We are so grateful to everyone at The Fuze Foundation and Fuze Ceremonies.”

Beatson Cancer Charity believes that no-one should face cancer on their own. This has always been the Beatson Cancer Charity’s aim and they work hard to continue to support even more people and families in the years to come. 14,172 patients have received therapies at the Wellbeing Centre Beatson Cancer Charity which works in close partnership with clinicians and researchers at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research to help to deliver life-saving research.

Morag Webster, Chair of The Fuze Foundation added; “As we share this news on Valentine’s Day, it underscores the love and compassion driving our collective efforts. We at The Fuze Foundation are thrilled to embark on our second year of partnership with Alzheimer Scotland and Beatson Cancer Charity. Our commitment goes beyond financial support; we’re dedicated to continuing to fostering collaborative efforts and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Together, we aim to empower individuals and families through education and awareness. Supporting these remarkable Scottish charities is a source of immense pride for us, as we recognise the impact they have on our communities and research endeavors.”

Morag added: “Since establishment in 2012, our not for profit Humanist organisation, based in Scotland, has been driven by our 5 Key Purposes, supported by the collective efforts of our team of over 60 professional Celebrants conducting Legal Humanist Wedding, Funeral and Naming Ceremonies throughout Scotland. Our charity partnerships play a vital role in achieving our goals.”
