"I enjoy meeting people, hearing their stories and creating a personal ceremony that they truly want. I feel privileged to conduct any kind of Humanist Ceremony".

Morag is available to conduct a variety of ceremonies, including Wedding, Civil Partnership, Baby Naming & Funeral Ceremonies.

Morag became interested in Humanism through a growing desire to discover a positive, rational philosophy for life.

Her interest was first aroused by attending several humanist ceremonies as a guest. She was struck by the many vivid ways with which people were able to celebrate life’s major milestones and share the human values which had brought together so many people.

Above all, she felt they were personal, authentic and memorable events.

With a belief in Humanist Principles, Morag is someone who enjoys meeting people and has a genuine interest in helping them. Looking to combine both her skills and her interest in people, Morag decided to take a new direction in her life and joined Anne to help establish Fuze Ceremonies and the Fuze Foundation in 2012. She trained as a Celebrant with the Fuze Foundation in 2012 and has been very busy ever since.

Morag’s professional background is as an established designer in interior furniture.  But now, as a full-time Celebrant she loves the fact that she is able to meet new people on a daily basis and create something unique for them.

Customer service is at the heart of everything Morag has been doing in her career to date.

Elizabeth McConnell

Elizabeth McConnell, Celebrant

"Creating wonderful memories when planning your wedding and preparing for marriage is something that’s so important and I enjoy working with couples to help them develop something personal and unique. I also want to help families arranging a funeral to make sure their loved one’s story is told and celebrated at what is a very difficult time".

Elizabeth is available to conduct Wedding Ceremonies, Baby Namings &  Funerals Ceremonies.

It’s all about you! Whether that’s creating the most wonderful day to celebrate your wedding or capturing the essence of a loved one when it’s time to say goodbye, Elizabeth believes that everyone has their own unique story to tell.

She will work closely with you to develop the perfect ceremony, helping you to choose the best way to reflect your personalities. From choosing your vows to deciding how you want to share your story, Elizabeth will be with you to make sure you create wonderful memories. She will help you to make your day as personal as possible and it can be as formal or as informal as you are.

When it comes to the end of life, Elizabeth feels that it’s just as important to have a personal celebration that captures the essence of your loved one. Attending funerals the last few years, she was struck by how impersonal some of the services were, even when the person was known to the celebrant. When reflecting on this, Elizabeth’s friends suggested to her that she would be ideally suited to spending time with bereaved families and sharing the story of their loved one.

She was attracted to the Fuze Foundation because of their commitment to reflect the wishes of the family and their contribution to addressing funeral poverty and funeral affordability.

Elizabeth lives in Cumbernauld with her 2 grown-up children and is happy to conduct weddings and funerals across North and South Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, East Dunbartonshire, Falkirk, Stirling or throughout Scotland.

Marjorie Russell

Marjorie Russell, Celebrant

Marjorie was inspired to become a Humanist Celebrant after attending a family wedding at Kelburn Castle in Largs.  It was meaningful, personal and different from other ceremonies she had attended and she was blown away by the flair, fun and enthusiasm of the Celebrant.   She was thinking of a career change and saw helping a couple turn their wedding dreams into reality in such a unique way was something she would really enjoy.  She found out that the Celebrant was Gillian Phillips from Fuze Ceremonies and so her new journey began.

Marjorie has been a civil servant for most of her career, working with people from all walks of life.  She has supported people through the most difficult times of their life, as well as celebrating their success and achievements. Recognising diversity and that everyone is unique she has coached and mentored many colleagues, encouraging them to share experiences and helping them achieve their full potential.  Through this she has developed excellent listening, consultation and communication skills as well as empathy and attention to detail, skills that are essential for a good Celebrant.

Building on strong foundations laid by her parents, she has a strong bond with her close and extended family and makes a real effort to maintain those family relationships both in the UK and abroad.  Having good friends and close family means there is always someone there to share the good time and the bad.  She has been married to Bruce for over 30 years and has a grown-up daughter.
